About Us

Esperanza de la selva is an association that was born from a dream by founder Roli Rodriguez (SHIPIBO NAME: Inin Beso) had as a small boy while growing up in the communities and seeing the necessity and the lack of medical attention towards the people with low economical resources, as well as the need to preserve the indigenous culture. The association was created by the Lic. nurse Roli Rodríguez Agustín (Shipibo Name: Inin Beso) of the native community Santa Isabel de Bahuanisho. Our Peruvian association without profit “ESPERANZA DE LA SELVA”; was born with the intentions to help and support the native communities that surround our region.

Esperanza de la Selva

Hope of the Jungle

We are for the preservation of indigenous culture with various programs that move away from the destructive influence of dominant economic structures that have been imposed on the Amazon. Our association's programs include the following: reforestation of plants and medicinal trees, treating patients with medical plants and ancestral wisdom, and educational programs focused on bringing more opportunities to the indigenous youth in order to continue the passing of ancestral wisdom in order to preserve and share with the collective world.
